This mini brief asked for a narrative sequence made out of 11 identical objects. Inspired by Fischli/Weiss’ “The Way Things Go” experimental film and the surrealist movement, my approach to this brief is to provoke some form of reaction in the viewer from the strangeness and randomness of the sequence while displacing image from sound. I chose eggs as my objects because to me they are the representation of surprise and potential for creation - the picture of surrealism and dreams (being the dream experience intrinsically connected to the cinematic’s). To develop the structural and abstract narrative that the brief suggested, I made a list of words to draw randomly, creating 11 commands to interfere with the eggs (E.g. slowly crack / aggressively grind / softly dry...).
